Our Creed Be Aware, be prepared, look ahead, communicate, maintain optimal health.
Be Aware Be aware and beware of everyone and everything around you. What you don't know or don't see can or will often time cause damage, hurt and possibly kill you. Arm yourself with information, its knowledge and power allows the upper hand or position to launch an investigation, deterrent, or first strike.
Be Prepared Have a backup plan then back that plan up. Have access to an emergency bag, first aid kit, Swiss army knife, flashlight, etc (I personally carry around an all-one-tool). Keep on hand and readily available, food, water, change of clothes, jacket, radio, etc. Ask yourself when formulating your plans, "what if?...", then "what if?...", and "what if?", again.
Use and incorporate the Buddy System* with family and friends to inform them where you are going, what you are doing, with whom and your expected time of arrival-in case you don't arrive. To some, this may seem like an invasion of personal space and privacy, but if you end up in an accident, unfamiliar or in dangerous surroundings - in a crisis whereas lines of communication have be severed, your buddy may be your backup or your only hope.
Look Ahead See what is 2 or 4 seconds in front of you. Give yourself time to react. Get the big picture while walking, running, driving, etc. Look around you and look ahead. Keep your eyes moving. It has always perplexed me that during the California earthquake back in 1992, someone would actually drive their car off a bridge that no longer had a span. Most people can't see past their nose and go out each day as if wearing blinders because they are usually preoccupied with other things and thoughts. Watch out for them. Keep yourself from being driven into a corner or situation with no place to go. Leave yourself a way out.
Communicate Stay in touch with others; find out what's going on, often, inform them what?s up with you. Changes take place constantly in every situation, update continuously. The smallest piece of Intel given or gathered from any useful source may be that bit, tip, or missing link, which may help decide, formulate, decipher or complete an outcome. The world is give and take so share what you know; what may seem irrelevant to you may be helpful or important to someone else. Keep an open dialog and the lines of communication open. A reliable source is one to come back to and your lifeline may depend upon it.
Maintain Optimal Health Live you daily physical life by being mobile, agile, hostile.
Mobile-exercise daily, get out and about, move around, walk, run, ride a bike;
Agile-maintain strength, work out; eat productively-what you put in effects your output, hydrate constantly;
Hostile-be aggressive and put forth 100% of effort into all your physical activities and ventures.
